Support groups

Stroke Support Group

Date: Fourth Wednesday of each month

Parkinson’s Movement Group

Additional information: The Parkinson’s Movement Group uses music and dance therapy to improve movement in Parkinson’s patients. It costs $30 per month and is open to the public.

Outpatient Therapists

Elizabeth Moore P.T., DPT, GCS graduated from Arizona State University summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in life science. Dr. Moore received her professional training at Northern Arizona University in which she received a doctorate of physical therapy. In 2016 she became board-certified clinical specialist in geriatric physical therapy through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. Dr. Moore specializes in Parkinson's disease rehabilitation with certifications in Parkinson Wellness and Recovery (PWR!). Although Dr. Moore specializes in rehabilitation with people with Parkinson's disease, she is experienced with treating the geriatric population with various neurological and orthopedic conditions. She has been working at Encompass Health East Valley since 2011 and currently the outpatient therapy team leader.

Tyler Luszeck, PT, DPT graduated from Brigham Young University-Hawaii cum laude with a bachelor's degree in pre-professional biology. Dr. Luszeck received his professional training from Franklin Pierce University where he received his doctorate in physical therapy. While at Franklin Pierce University, Dr. Luszeck was able to publish a systematic review comparing outcomes of thoracic and cervical manipulations. Dr. Luszeck has completed the Neurology Residency program through A.T. Still University and is currently pursuing a neurology clinical specialist through the American Physical Therapy Association. He is also well trained in various manual therapy techniques including soft tissue mobilization, joint mobilizations and manipulations to aide in restoring joint function and decreasing pain. He has been working at Encompass Health East Valley since 2015. Dr. Luszeck leads the weekly Parkinson's movement community group and the Parkinson's team at Encompass Health East Valley.

Abby Grabowski, PT, DPT graduated from California State University, Long Beach in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in theatrical costume design. Abby then moved to Arizona in 2008, where she pursued a career change in healthcare. Abby received her doctorate degree in physical therapy from Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ in 2018 and joined the Encompass Health Outpatient team in 2019.  Abby is certified in Parkinson's Wellness and Recovery (PWR!) and is passionate about treating patients with complex orthopedic and neurological conditions. In her spare time, Abby enjoys running, hiking, and dance.

Ian Cope, PTA graduated from and received his professional training from Carrington College with an associates degree in physical therapist assistance in 2018. Ian started his career in therapy as a rehab tech while putting himself through school and has been with the company since 2015. He personally has gone through physical therapy due to tearing 3 ligaments in his left knee and understand the benefits of therapy and specialized care. Ian is currently pursuing his bachelor's degree in heath science through NAU while working with Encompass Health to further his education.

Jessica Nelson Rigney M.S., OTR/L earned her bachelor's degree in exercise science (emphasis in nutrition) from Humboldt State University and a master's degree in occupational therapy from A.T. Still University. Additionally, Jessica has completed training with splinting, manual therapy, the Hand Mentor Pro, Saebo, Myomo, Interactive Metronome, REO and Dynasplint. She utilizes a variety of modalities on a regular basis (NMES/TENS/IFC, phonophoresis, iontophoresis, ultrasound, kinesiotape and leukotape, paraffin etc). Jessica performs seating and wheelchair evaluations and is certified in the DriveABLE driving assessment as well. She has been working at Encompass Health East Valley since 2011 treating neurological and ortho.

Anthony Tillman COTA/L, CKTP began his therapy career in 1993. He has a background in orthopedic and neurologic therapy with an emphasis in hand therapy. Anthony has served as a director of rehabilitation and is a certified Kinesio tape practitioner. As an Air Force veteran, he has a strong interest in our returning service members that have been impacted physically or emotionally. He is a supporter of Project Healing Waters, a rehabilitation organization that utilizes fly fishing to address these issues.

Michelle Parisian MA, CCC SLP earned bachelor's and master's degrees in communication disorders from San Jose State University. She started her career at Sequoia Hospital in Redwood City, California. Michelle is licensed to practice speech pathology in the State of Arizona and holds the certificate of clinical competency by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Michelle is a certified provider for Vital Stimulation and LSVT LOUD certified. She has been providing outpatient services targeting adults with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders at Encompass Health East Valley since 2010. Michelle leads the free community communication group that meets monthly at Encompass Health.

Katie Weitz M.S., CCC-SLP earned a bachelor's in speech and hearing science and an master's in communication disorders, both from Arizona State University. She began her career at HealthSouth Bakersfield in California. She is licensed to practice speech pathology in the state of Arizona and holds the certificate of clinical competency by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Katie is a certified provider of Vital Stimulation for treatment of dysphagia. Katie has experience treating patients with many diagnosis, including stroke, brain injury, brain cancer, dementia, Parkinson's, and many more. She specializes in treatment of cognitive impairments, dysphagia, communication impairments, and motor speech disorders at Encompass Health East Valley since 2018.

PRO RE NATA Therapist:

Lorete Feka, PT, GAq, CLT received her professional training at San Sebastian University in Chile, South America in 2007. Lorete moved to the United States in 2012 to work for the Scottsdale Encompass Health location and received her geriatric aquatic therapy (GAq) certification. The next year she received her certified lymphedema therapist certificate. While in inpatient, Lorete also did home health, then recently moved to outpatient therapy. In 2015 Lorete traveled around Arizona as a traveling therapist at all the 6 Encompass Health locations, where she finally stayed with Encompass Health East Valley. She completed her Kinisiotaping course in late 2016.
