Dr. Cook is a board-certified PM&R physician providing patient care services at Wesley Rehabilitation Hospital.

Dr. Cook is a board-certified PM&R physician providing patient care services at Wesley Rehabilitation Hospital. He is originally from Omaha Nebraska, and enjoys time with his family and friends. His objective is to support our patients medical and rehabilitation progress for a safe and enjoyable discharge home.

Chief Nursing Officer

Kristie Ball joined Wesley Rehabilitation Hospital as the chief nursing officer in November 2016.
Kristie Ball joined Wesley Rehabilitation Hospital as the chief nursing officer in November 2016. She has more than 20 years’ experience in healthcare with the past 18 in leadership roles. Kristie served as a medical/surgical supervisor and chief nursing officer at William Newton Hospital. She moved to Via Christi where she served as the director of clinical services at the rehabilitation hospital, director of medical/surgical and critical care services on the St. Joseph campus along with director of women’s and children’s services. Kristie received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Southwestern College and a master’s degree in business from the University of Phoenix. Kristie is a long-standing member of the Kansas Organization of Nurse Leaders and is also a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives.

Director of Plant Operations

Dale joined Wesley Rehabilitation Hospital in January 2010.

Dale joined Wesley Rehabilitation Hospital in January 2010. He has worked in maintenance and plant operations for more than 23 years. Prior to working at HealthSouth, he has been employed by Via Christi, nursing homes, long term acute care hospitals, HCA Wesley, and consulted on new ventures into healthcare. Dale’s goal is to provide a safe, secure and comfortable environment for patients and staff so that they can be able to perform optimally. While striving for this goal, he is constantly seeking ways to conserve expenses and position the hospital to be ready to meet the needs of our community. Dale has a bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration from the University of Phoenix.

Jamie joined Wesley Rehabilitation Hospital in 2011 and has more than 20 years experience in the healthcare industry.
Jamie joined Wesley Rehabilitation Hospital in 2011 and has more than 20 years experience in the healthcare industry. Prior to coming to HealthSouth she worked in the business office for both Wesley Medical Center and Via Christi Health System. She is a certified HealthSouth medical coder and in her current role of HIMS supervisor and hospital HIPAA officer, her goal is to maintain patient privacy while delivering quality customer service. She is an avid reader, an animal lover and enjoys traveling with her husband.

Allison is board certified as a pharmacotherapy specialist. She joined Wesley Rehabilitation Hospital, an Affiliate of Encompass Health, in 2019 as the Director of Pharmacy.

Allison is board certified as a pharmacotherapy specialist. She joined Wesley Rehabilitation Hospital, an Affiliate of Encompass Health, in 2019 as the Director of Pharmacy. Upon graduating from the University of Kansas school of pharmacy, Allison completed a pharmacy residency with the Veterans Administration where she then worked as a clinical pharmacist with a scope of practice before transitioning to the manager of pharmacy operations. She is actively involved in community outreach through the Guadalupe Clinic in Wichita and student pharmacist development with the University of Kansas school of pharmacy at the Wichita campus.

Bob has served as the chief financial officer since joining Wesley Rehabilitation Hospital in November 2002
Bob has served as the chief financial officer since joining Wesley Rehabilitation Hospital in November 2002. Prior to joining HealthSouth, Bob served in numerous leadership positions at Via Christi Medical Management from 1990-2002 and in particular as regional manager of operations from 1997-2002. An Ohio native, Bob earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Florida State University in 1986. His desire is to promote an environment that provides the highest quality of rehabilitation services by creating operational efficiencies through communication and improved systems.

JoAnn Pereira

Director of Quality and Risk Management

JoAnn started with Wesley Rehabilitation Hospital as a certified nursing assistant and then worked in various roles before becoming the director of quality and risk management.

JoAnn Pereira joined Wesley Rehabilitation Hospital in 2014 with 8 years of experience in healthcare working in a variety of roles. She started with Wesley Rehabilitation Hospital as a certified nursing assistant (CNA), and then worked as a registered nurse and nurse supervisor. She became the director of quality and risk management in 2017. She graduated from Kansas State University with a bachelor’s degree in athletic training and Wichita State University with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. Her goal is to provide patients with the highest level of quality care so that they can return home to their family and continue to live full and active lives.

Anita joined Wesley Rehabilitation Hospital in January 2012.
Anita joined Wesley Rehabilitation Hospital in January 2012. She has experience working in the home health field and spent 15 years in case management in the workers compensation arena. She also worked for Raytheon Aircraft focusing on family medical leave as well as short and long term disability and as an internal case manager for Preferred Health Systems. She is a graduate of Wesley School of Nursing, and has been a Certified Case Manager (CCM) since 1998. Anita is currently a member of the local chapter of CMACK.

Betty joined Wesley Rehabilitation Hospital in September 2007.
Betty joined Wesley Rehabilitation Hospital in September 2007. She has almost 10 years of human resources experience in the areas of recruitment and retention, staff development, employee relations, benefits administration, performance management, employment law and compliance and workplace safety. Betty’s goal is to ensure employee’s needs are met in a timely and effective manner as well as ensuring Wesley Rehabilitation Hospital recruits and retains top notch employees to meet the needs of our patients. She has a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in human resource management. She also received her certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) in 2006.

Associate Medical Director

Dr. Veenis has been associate medical director and medical director of the brain injury unit at Wesley Rehabilitation Hospital since July 1993.

Dr. Veenis has been associate medical director and medical director of the brain injury unit at Wesley Rehabilitation Hospital since July 1993. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 1989. He completed his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at St. Francis Medical Center in Pittsburgh in June 1993. He has special interests in neurorehabilitation and NCS/EMG. Dr. Veenis was awarded Wichita Business Journal Best Doctors for 2010.
