William Kiser conquers post COVID-19 rehabilitation and returns home

COVID-19 struck 75-year-old William Kiser hard. While being treated in the hospital for four weeks, the virus started affecting his kidneys, vascular system and respiratory system. However, he fortunately pulled through and was transferred to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Memphis for rehabilitation before returning home.

Dr. Leslie Leicht, the hospital’s medical director and a physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist, cared for Kiser during his rehabilitation journey. “Mr. Kiser came here. He was extremely weak. Short of breath with minimal activity” Dr. Leicht explained.<
