Miraculous 25-year-old COVID-19 survivor walks out of rehabilitation

Tionna Hairston’s mom was told her daughter would be a vegetable and that she would never have a good quality of life after she continued a downward health spiral as a result of COVID-19. However, Tionna proved everyone wrong. In May 2020, the 25-year-old contracted COVID-19 alongside her mom, but it affected Tionna much harder. As a result of COVID-19, Tionna had a stroke, heart attack and had a defibrillator placed. She coded for 30 minutes and was placed on life support before turning a new leaf and getting her second chance at life. Tionna was transferred to Novant Health Rehabilitation Hospital where she learned basic skills like eating, dressing and standing up again.
