Hospital happenings

We had a week full of activities for National Patient Safety Awareness Week.

We had a week full of activities for National Patient Safety Awareness Week. Our staff was invited to wind their way around our Candy Land game board to complete their Patient Safety Week competencies and solve the mystery of what happened to Patient ZZTest in our very own Cardinal Hill Clue game.

Our Encompass Health Home Health team was on hand to answer any questions staff might have as we work together to ensure a smooth transition for our patients. We also hosted a corn hole tournament in the atrium for staff and patients to participate. One of our patients came down to watch and cheer on his physical therapist but ended up being recruited to play and ultimately went on to win the tournament.

It was heartwarming to watch how staff quickly implemented accommodations that allowed this patient to safely participate and enjoy the activity. Our staff shared that it was the highlight of his stay, and he felt like a star! We wrapped up the week by hosting a celebration to announce this year’s STAR of Safety Winner.
