Booneville resident, husband and father, Daniel Gray had multiple strokes causing him to have double vision, left side weakness and poor coordination. After a week in the hospital, his family wanted him to come to Encompass Health Fort Smith where a relative had received therapy. “Every day my vision steadied, my walking improved, my grip got better and my voice got stronger,” Daniel said. “My goal is to walk out of here and to not leave in a wheelchair.” On Oct. 30, after 20 days of therapy, Daniel walked out of the building with his physical therapist. What’s next for Daniel? “By the end of the year I want to come visit and walk in here without a device,” he said.
