Taking the steps to learn to walk again after experiencing loss of function due to a stroke or other neurological disorder can be a long and difficult process. The SmartStep™ rehabilitation system can help. A flexible, lightweight insole attached to a small wireless control unit that is worn around the ankle, SmartStep collects information and records the force used by the heel and forefoot when the patient stands or takes a step.
The data collected is sent wirelessly to a computer running the SmartStep software. The software then translates the data, providing audSteio and visual feedback progress on a display in front of the patient. This increases patient motivation and helps improve therapy results.
