Encompass Health Corp. and the University of Maryland Medical System today announced they have executed a joint venture agreement to own and operate Rehabilitation Hospital of Bowie. The 60-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital, located at 17351 Melford Boulevard, began serving patients in June 2023.

Encompass Health announces the opening of Rehabilitation Hospital of Bowie, a 60-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital located at 17351 Melford Boulevard. The hospital serves patients recovering from debilitating illnesses and injuries including strokes and other neurological disorders, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, amputations and complex orthopedic conditions.

Joseph Williams named CEO of Rehabilitation Hospital of Bowie

Joseph Williams has been appointed as chief executive officer of Rehabilitation Hospital of Bowie. The hospital is a 60-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital under construction at 17351 Melford Blvd in Bowie, Maryland. The hospital is expected to begin caring for patients in summer 2023.

Encompass Health breaks ground for future Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Southern Maryland

Encompass Health recently broke ground for the future Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Southern Maryland. The 60-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital will be located at 5081 Howerton Way in Bowie and is expected to begin serving patients in early 2023.
