Dan Thompkins spent nearly 300 days in the hospital fighting COVID-19 and was recently discharged from Encompass Health of Florence where he was treated with intensive therapy to help him return to normal daily activities. As he left Encompass Health, Dan was greeted by friends and family who have long awaited his return home. Dan and his wife Carol describe his journey with COVID-19 as very difficult, but offer words of hope for others who may be recovering from the virus: “Anybody that’s going through what we’ve gone through, just keep in mind don’t ever give up hope – and fight,” said Carol.
