June 10, 2026 — Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Toms River and Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Tinton Falls showed their commitment to women's heart health by sponsoring and attending the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women luncheon in New Jersey. The annual luncheon raises awareness, promotes education and supports lifesaving research.
“Supporting the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women initiative aligns closely with our mission of helping patients regain independence and live healthier lives,” said Danielle Farr, senior rehabilitation liaison at Encompass Health Toms River. “Sponsoring and participating in this event allowed us to support an important cause while raising awareness about cardiovascular health, prevention, and recovery within the communities we serve.”
Each Encompass Health hospital in attendance is known for their community engagement and advocacy. Through local partnerships and participation in community events such as the luncheon, the hospitals establish and foster ongoing relationships that encourage conversations on how to best provide inpatient rehabilitation to their community.
“Community engagement is a vital part of who we are. Participating in events like the Go Red for Women luncheon allows us to connect with local healthcare leaders, community organizations, advocates and residents who share a commitment to improving health outcomes,” said Farr. “These relationships help us better understand and respond to the evolving healthcare needs of our region.”
The Go Red for Women luncheon also included personal stories from women whose lives have been impacted by heart disease. Encompass Health teams were inspired by their resilience, determination and commitment to advocating for awareness. Keynote speakers shared their stories and discussed challenges they faced during recovery.
“As rehabilitation professionals, we see firsthand the challenges patients face during recovery, and hearing these stories reinforced the importance of both prevention and access to quality care throughout the recovery journey,” said Farr.
The Go Red for Women luncheon in New Jersey served as a meaningful reminder that through collaboration and continued outreach, healthcare organizations can help build stronger, healthier communities.
