Sea Pines Rehabilitation Hospital honors Evita Badell as OEAA region recipient

Sea Pines Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of Encompass Health, is proud to recognize Evangelina “Evita” Badell, physical therapist, as the Southeast region recipient of Encompass Health’s 2025 Outstanding Employee Achievement Award (OEAA). The OEAA program honors exceptional employees across Encompass Health’s eight operating regions who exemplify compassion, leadership and a commitment to excellence.

Badell is recognized for her empathy, professionalism and generosity and is often described as the backbone of her hospital. With her Spanish-speaking skills, she bridges communication gaps for patients and supports coworkers in doing the same, ensuring high-quality care for everyone.

She is also a proud advocate for the hospital’s amputee program, mentoring students, physical therapists and physical therapist assistants. Most recently, Badell was named employee of the quarter and chose to donate her award to a Hurricane Melissa supply drive.

She accepted her award during a celebratory gala May 6 at the Country Club of Birmingham in Birmingham, Alabama — home to Encompass Health’s Home Office — with attendees including the Company’s board of directors, executive and regional leaders, region recipients and their guests.
