June 26, 2026 — Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Waco, located at 3600 S. Loop 340 Highway, unveiled additions to the hospital. The hospital opened a new unit of 20 private patient beds, bringing its total bed count to 60. Hospital leaders also introduced an expanded therapy gym featuring state-of-the-art technology.
“This expansion is more than just additional space,” said Donna Harris, hospital CEO. “It means more people in our community will have access to the healthcare services they need after a traumatic, life-changing event. More people will return to their lives because of the intensive therapy they receive at Encompass Health Waco.”
The expansion added approximately 15,800 square feet to the hospital's footprint. Encompass Health Waco provides essential rehabilitation services that help patients recovering from strokes, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, amputations and complex orthopedic conditions regain functional ability, independence and quality of life.
“We know there is a great need for inpatient rehabilitation services in the Waco area,” Harris said. “Encompass Health Waco's growth marks an important step in meeting this need and continuing to serve as a strong healthcare partner.”
