March 18, 2026 — Encompass Health President and Chief Executive Officer Mark Tarr has been named to the Birmingham Business Journal’s 2026 Power 60 list, marking the fifth consecutive year he has been recognized among the Magic City’s most influential business leaders.
Published annually, the Power 60 list highlights executives and decision-makers whose leadership, vision and impact help shape Birmingham’s economic growth and business landscape. Honorees represent a broad range of industries, including health care, finance, economic development, education and manufacturing.
Tarr’s continued presence on the Power 60 list reflects his effective leadership of Encompass Health, where he has served as president and CEO since December 2016. He has been employed by the Company for more than three decades, holding a variety of leadership and operational roles. Under Tarr’s leadership, Encompass Health has remained focused on advancing high-quality, patient-centered rehabilitative care while strengthening its national footprint and investing in clinical innovation, workforce development and community partnerships.
