Encompass Health Morgantown ranked No. 1 rehabilitation hospital in West Virginia by U.S. News & World Report

Aug. 19, 2026Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Morgantown has been named the No. 1 rehabilitation hospital in West Virginia by U.S. News & World Report in its 2026-2027 Best Rehabilitation Hospitals rankings.

The recognition places Encompass Health Morgantown among fewer than one-third of rehabilitation hospitals nationwide that earned recognition from U.S. News, reflecting the hospital's commitment to delivering high-quality inpatient rehabilitation care for patients recovering from stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation and other complex conditions.

U.S. News evaluated 1,131 inpatient rehabilitation hospitals nationwide for its 2026-2027 rankings. Of those evaluated, 301 received recognition, placing them among the top-performing rehabilitation hospitals in the country.

As part of Encompass Health, the nation's largest owner and operator of inpatient rehabilitation hospitals, Encompass Health Morgantown provides specialized care designed to help patients regain independence and return to the activities that matter most. Patients receive at least three hours of physical, occupational and/or speech therapy five days per week, along with 24-hour nursing care and frequent physician visits. Care is delivered by an interdisciplinary team that includes physicians, nurses, therapists, dietitians, pharmacists and case managers.

U.S. News rankings are based on a variety of measures, including patient outcomes, quality of care, volume and expert opinion.
