How we compare

After a stroke, illness or injury, your doctor may recommend you to an inpatient rehabilitation hospital or a skilled nursing facility for therapy, but you have a choice in where you continue your recovery. To ensure you make the right one, compare the different settings. In an inpatient rehabilitation hospital, you will receive 24-hour nursing care with frequent physician visits, and at least three hours of therapy five days a week. In a skilled nursing facility, you are unlikely to receive the same high level of medical care and therapy.

Yes. Encompass Health Erie visiting hours are from 3 p.m. - 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. - 8 p.m on weekends and holidays. Since your loved ones are an integral part of your recovery in inpatient rehabilitation, they also will be included in your recovery plans and goals.
