April 1, 2026 — Encompass Health hospitals from the Dallas area including Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Dallas, Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Prosper, Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Plano and Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Richardson demonstrated its commitment to advancing women's heart health by sponsoring and participating in the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women luncheon in Dallas. The annual event is dedicated to raising awareness, promoting education and supporting lifesaving research.

The luncheon brought together healthcare professionals, community leaders and advocates to focus on one of the most pressing health issues facing women today — cardiovascular disease.

“Supporting the Go Red for Women luncheon aligns closely with our commitment to patient care,” said Cassie McGuire, business development director at Encompass Health Prosper. “Cardiovascular health remains a critical issue affecting women, and rehabilitation plays a vital role in recovery after cardiac events. Our involvement shows our dedication to raising awareness, supporting prevention efforts and advancing education around heart health.”

Participation in the event also strengthened Encompass Health's presence in the Dallas community. By engaging alongside fellow healthcare advocates, the hospitals reinforced their role as both a provider of high-quality inpatient rehabilitative services and an active community partner.

“Our involvement shows that we are committed to improving public health beyond the walls of our hospital,” McGuire said. “It allows us to build meaningful relationships and further establish trust within the Dallas community while highlighting our leadership in post-acute care.”

One of the most inspiring elements of the luncheon was the opportunity to hear directly from survivors of cardiovascular events. Their personal stories of resilience and recovery resonated strongly with attendees and served as a powerful reminder of the importance of awareness, early intervention and access to rehabilitation services.

“These stories underscored both the challenges women face with heart disease and the hope that recovery is possible with the right care and support,” McGuire said.

The event made a significant impact by bringing together a wide range of community leaders united by a common goal — improving women's health. Through shared experiences and collaboration, attendees left empowered to prioritize prevention and advocate for better cardiovascular care.

“This year's luncheon inspired action and strengthened our collective commitment to making a lasting difference in the lives of women throughout the Dallas area,” McGuire said.

Encompass Health joined the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association in championing education, advocacy and compassionate care. The Go Red for Women luncheon served as a meaningful reminder that through collaboration and continued outreach, healthcare organizations can help build stronger, healthier communities.
