Jennifer Howland

Speech-Language Pathologist
Bio
Jennifer Howland is a speech-language pathologist with close to 30 years of experience. She has worked in nearly all settings in which SLPs are employed including inpatient acute and rehabilitation, outpatient, skilled nursing, home health and public schools. Howland is currently the director of therapy operations at AnMed Health Rehabilitation Hospital (an Encompass Health hospital).

In all the settings she has worked in, she has found particular enjoyment in the inpatient rehabilitation one at Encompass Health. Howland serves on Encompass Health’s subject matter expert team for speech-language pathologists. She has a passion for providing quality care to her patients and enjoys mentoring and leadership to share her knowledge with other clinicians.

Howland is a longstanding member of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association.

She enjoys hiking, backpacking and boating on the beautiful lakes of South Carolina where she currently resides with her husband and three dogs.

Education
Howland received her undergraduate degree from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan and her master’s degree in speech-language pathology from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. 

She is certified in LSVT, Vital Stim and has extensive experience performing FEES and assisted with a Susan Langmore study quantifying residue following the swallow on FEES.
