Sept. 19, 2025 – Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Albuquerque celebrated National Rehabilitation Awareness Week (NRAW) with a community open house and patient reunion events at the hospital. The open house featured hospital tours, demonstrations of the advanced technologies Encompass Health Albuquerque uses in rehabilitation, and the opportunity to speak with nurses and therapists about the level of care the hospital provides.

“This was a wonderful night of connecting with our community partners and showcasing the multidisciplinary care we provide our patients on a daily basis,” said Michelle Martinez, chief executive officer of Encompass Health Albuquerque. “The services we provide the Albuquerque area are important, and we desire to keep educating our community on the rehabilitative options available to them.”

NRAW is a time to recognize and commend the rehabilitation professionals who dedicate their lives to impacting the lives of others. It is also a time to celebrate the benefits of rehabilitation and the successes of those who have received treatment.

“The patient reunion event during NRAW was truly the highlight of the week,” said Martinez. “The stories of our former patients are inspiring and motivating for our team and current patients. It’s a strong reminder of how vital our level of care is to the community.”

Encompass Health Albuquerque provides essential rehabilitative services that help patients recovering from strokes, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, amputations and complex orthopedic conditions regain function and independence. The hospital has been serving patients since 1988.
