Altru Rehabilitation Hospital names next CEO

Aug. 24, 2026 — Rob Holcomb has been appointed chief executive officer of Altru Rehabilitation Hospital. The 40-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital, located at 4500 S. Washington St., is a joint venture between Encompass Health and Altru. Holcomb brings more than 15 years of executive leadership experience to the CEO role. He comes to Altru Rehabilitation Hospital from UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida, where he served as CEO.

“Altru Rehabilitation Hospital is an important healthcare provider in the Greater Grand Forks area,” Holcomb said. “We will continue to prioritize patient-centered care and meet the unique needs of the people and families we serve.”

Holcomb has a proven track record of overseeing complex healthcare operations while strengthening financial performance, expanding service lines and developing high-performing teams. He is accomplished in implementing innovative programs and building collaborative relationships with stakeholders. As a results-driven leader, Holcomb's top priority is providing exceptional patient experience and quality care.

Holcomb earned a master's degree in health administration from Capella University and a bachelor's degree in business management from Liberty University. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Altru Rehabilitation Hospital opened to patients in 2022. The hospital serves patients following life-changing events, such as strokes, brain or spinal cord injuries or complex neurological conditions.
