Carolyn Jackson has been appointed as chief executive officer of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Braintree
May 15, 2025 – Carolyn Jackson has been appointed as chief executive officer of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Braintree. The 187-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital includes both the main campus in Braintree and the satellite campus in Framingham. Encompass Health Braintree provides a full scope of inpatient rehabilitation services and holds The Joint Commission's Disease-Specific Care Certification in Stroke and Brain Injury Rehabilitation.

Jackson previously served as CEO of Tenet Healthcare’s Saint Vincent Hospital. She has significant experience in acute care settings with strategic planning, physician recruitment, service line expansion, cost reduction and construction projects. Additionally, she successfully led a major medical record software transition and implemented a new patient accounting system across Tenet’s Massachusetts market.
“Carolyn is a strong health care executive who succeeds at business development and hospital operations,” said Mat Gooch, regional vice-president of operations for Encompass Health. “She maintains a strong focus on enhancing patient safety and satisfaction, as well as quality of care. I know she will successfully lead the hospital team at Encompass Health Braintree.”
Jackson holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Delaware and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School. In 2024, Jackson was named to the Worcester Business Journal’s Power 100 list, which honors Central Massachusetts’ most influential professionals. She was also named among Modern Healthcare’s 2014 “Up and Comers” list.
