Dec. 3, 2025 - Lauren Grieder has been appointed chief executive officer of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Concordville. The hospital, under construction at 780 Baltimore Pike in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania, is a 50-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital and is expected to open to patients in May 2026.
“It is an honor to be selected as the first CEO of Encompass Health Concordville,” said Grieder. “We eagerly anticipate opening this hospital to the Glen Mills community and providing our high-quality rehabilitation services to patients who are recovering from a traumatic event.”
Grieder, a physical therapist by background, brings 17 years of health care experience to the CEO role. She previously served as interim CEO for Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Reading in Pennsylvania and New England Rehabilitation Hospital of Portland in Maine. Grieder joined Encompass Health in 2020 as director of therapy operations at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Middletown in Delaware.
“Lauren is known for providing the highest degree of quality care possible,” said Mat Gooch, president of Encompass Health’s Northeast region. “She brings a wealth of health care knowledge in patient care, hospital operations, regulatory compliance and recruitment. Under her leadership, I know she will establish a dedicated, successful team here in Delaware County.”
Grieder earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy and bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from the University of Delaware. She is also board certified in sports and orthopedics. Grieder is passionate about community service. She has served on the American Heart Association’s Stroke Summit Steering Committee for Delaware and the Appoquinimink School District Healthcare Sciences Advisory Board.
Encompass Health Concordville will provide essential rehabilitative services that help patients recovering from strokes, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, amputations and complex orthopedic conditions regain function and independence. Patients will receive a minimum of three hours of intensive therapy five days each week, frequent physician visits and 24-hour nursing care.
The rehabilitation hospital will be Encompass Health’s 10th hospital in Pennsylvania.
