Feb. 6, 2026 — Throughout Lauren Grieder's career as a physical therapist and hospital executive, she has been driven to raise awareness of stroke risk factors and recovery.
“I've crossed paths with many women who experienced a life-altering event due to their cardiovascular health,” said Grieder, CEO of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Concordville. “Often, these women were healthy individuals, and grasping why this happened to them was extremely hard.”
Grieder is now a nominee for the Go Red for Women's Woman of Impact campaign organized by the American Heart Association. The fundraising campaign focuses on research and initiatives that improve women's heart health.
“We know there are gaps in clinical care for women with cardiovascular disease,” Grieder said. “This campaign will help fund women-centric research, empower women to live healthy lives and support women in reducing their risk of cardiovascular disease.”
Raising awareness and funding are also ways for Grieder to improve knowledge of the “why” behind cardiovascular events. She is also looking forward to a partnership between Encompass Health Concordville, which opens to patients in May 2026, and the American Heart Association.
“I am excited to start a longstanding partnership between our hospital and the Heart Association,” Grieder said. “It's important that we are in the community, raising awareness, talking about stroke risk factors and informing the public about the level of care we provide at Encompass Health Concordville.”
Encompass Health Concordville will provide essential rehabilitative services to help patients recover from strokes and regain function and independence. Patients will receive a minimum of three hours of intensive therapy five days each week, frequent physician visits and 24-hour nursing care.
“We have so much to look forward to in the next few months with Encompass Health Concordville opening,” Grieder said. “Being nominated for the Woman of Impact campaign is an incredible honor, and it's a privilege to spend these months supporting this worthy cause.”
The public is welcome to join Grieder's campaign. The Woman of Impact winner will be announced April 13.
