Eastside Rehabilitation Hospital recognized by mayor’s office

Officials and staff at Piedmont Healthcare Encompass Health Eastside Rehabilitation Hospital welcome Mayor Brandon during a community recognition event celebrating rehabilitation care and partnership.

Sept. 18, 2026 – Eastside Rehabilitation Hospital marked National Rehabilitation Awareness Week with a visit from Loganville Mayor Branden Whitfield. At a hospital event, Whitfield presented the hospital with a proclamation recognizing its commitment to helping patients regain independence.

“We are grateful to Mayor Whitfield for recognizing the important work our team does for the Loganville community,” said Tom Morris, hospital CEO. “Our focus is on helping patients return to the activities that matter most to them while receiving high-quality rehabilitation care close to home.”

National Rehabilitation Awareness Week highlights the role rehabilitation professionals play in a patient’s recovery journey. At Eastside Rehabilitation Hospital, patients receive an individualized plan of care designed to address their specific rehabilitation needs and goals.

The hospital serves patients recovering from conditions including strokes, brain and spinal cord injuries, and complex neurological conditions. The hospital’s multidisciplinary care team supports patients throughout their recovery, providing physical, occupational and speech therapy, along with nursing and physician care. Through inpatient rehabilitation, the hospital helps patients build the skills and confidence needed to return to their homes, families and communities as independently as possible.

Eastside Rehabilitation Hospital is a joint venture between Piedmont and Encompass Health. The hospital opened in June.
