Sept. 18, 2025 — Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Columbia was presented with a proclamation from Columbia Mayor Daniel Rickenmann. The proclamation is in recognition of National Rehabilitation Awareness Week (NRAW), which is celebrated every year during the third week of September.
“It is an honor to receive this proclamation from Mayor Rickenmann and his team,” said Nicole Woods, chief executive officer of Encompass Health Columbia. “We strive every day to serve the Columbia community with high-quality rehabilitative care, and we are grateful to be applauded for the work we do.”
The proclamation recognized the 36 years the hospital has served patients and the multidisciplinary team of physicians, therapists and nurses who provide compassionate care following a life-changing illness or injury.
“Encompass Health Columbia has served thousands of patients on their rehabilitation journey,” said Woods. “During this special week, we not only celebrate our dedicated staff, but we also cheer on all the patients we have empowered to return to their daily lives.”
Woods presented the proclamation to the hospital staff during an employee luncheon. Encompass Health Columbia is a leading provider of inpatient rehabilitation for patients with conditions such as stroke, brain injury, hip fractures, and other complex orthopedic and neurological conditions.
