Feb. 13, 2026 — Encompass Health, the nation’s largest owner and operator of inpatient rehabilitation hospitals, hosted a grand opening Friday for Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Irmo. The 49-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital, located at 108 Evergreen Drive, is expected to begin serving patients in March.
The hospital will provide essential rehabilitative services that help patients recovering from strokes, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, amputations and complex orthopedic conditions regain function and independence. Patients will receive a minimum of three hours of intensive therapy five days each week, frequent physician visits and 24-hour nursing care.

Hospital amenities include all private patient rooms, a spacious therapy gym featuring advanced rehabilitation technologies, an activities of daily living suite, in-house dialysis suite, therapy courtyard, dining room, in-house pharmacy and dayroom areas. An interdisciplinary team of highly specialized nurses, therapists and physicians will provide physical, occupational and speech therapies to restore functional ability and quality of life.
The more than 53,000-square-foot hospital will employee approximately 95 people in the first year and approximately 150 by its fifth year. Encompass Health Irmo is the Company’s 11th location in South Carolina.
