Sept. 19, 2025 – Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Miami celebrated National Rehabilitation Awareness Week (NRAW) by drawing attention to the benefits of rehabilitation. At a hospital event, Cutler Bay Mayor Tim Meerbott’s office presented hospital leadership with an NRAW proclamation. The proclamation recognized the strong legacy of excellent care Encompass Health Miami provides its patients.
“We are thankful to Mayor Meerbott, Town Manager Rafael Casals and Councilmember Richard Ramirez for acknowledging the important work we do,” said Zaynah Camp-Fry, chief executive officer of Encompass Health Miami. “The services we provide our community bring hope and restoration following some of life’s toughest challenges.”
Local health care providers and community partners also joined the NRAW celebration event, including the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue. Elizabeth Payne, marketing and community liaison for Encompass Health Miami, organized the celebration.
“Bringing our partners and health care providers together allows us to emphasize how impactful timely rehabilitation can be in a patient’s recovery,” said Payne. “This gave us an opportunity to showcase how our interdisciplinary team works together to provide comprehensive rehabilitation following stroke, spinal cord injury, neurological and orthopedic conditions.”
Encompass Health Miami opened to patients in 1994. The hospital holds The Joint Commission Disease-Specific Care Certification in Stroke and Hip Fracture Rehabilitation.
