Encompass Health hosted a golf tournament featuring retired NFL players to raise stroke awareness.
May 8, 2025 – Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospitals of Mesa, Tucson, Scottsdale and Glendale hosted a stroke awareness golf tournament, in partnership with the United Stroke Alliance, to raise funds to provide local stroke survivors and their caregivers the opportunity to attend an impactful weekend retreat. As May is National Stroke Awareness Month, the tournament aimed to raise stroke awareness.
The tournament hosted 18 golf teams comprising of 90 total players. The teams featured retired NFL players and stroke survivors. Stroke survivors also served as event volunteers.
Encompass Health is a leading provider for inpatient rehabilitation following a life-changing illness or injury, including stroke. Following a stroke, many survivors have challenges with walking, talking and the use of one side of the body, all of which may require different therapies or types of rehabilitation. Encompass Health serves patients who have suffered a stroke by tailoring their rehabilitation needs to their specific goals.
This was the second year Encompass Health hospitals in Arizona hosted the golf tournament.
