June 18, 2026 — Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Houston at The Medical Center has appointed Emily Threet as the hospital’s next CEO. The 61-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital is located at 3010 Yellowstone Blvd.
Threet joined Encompass Health in 2019 as director of quality and risk at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Katy. She played a key leadership role in supporting the hospital’s opening and subsequent expansion.
“Over the past seven years, I’ve seen the tremendous impact our rehabilitation care provides patients after a life-altering medical event,” Threet said. “Encompass Health Houston is committed to meeting patients’ needs and will continue to be a strong healthcare partner.”
Threet has spent more than 15 years in post-acute care. She brings experience in overseeing corporate compliance programs, elevating quality and safety of healthcare services and managing credentialing for more than 100 medical staff members. Threet has also seen success in securing three Joint Commission certifications at Encompass Health Katy.

Threet earned master’s and bachelor’s degrees in communication sciences and disorders from Baylor University. She is a licensed speech-language pathologist in Texas and holds a certificate of clinical competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). She is also a member of ASHA and serves the community in a variety of ways, including with the Junior League of Houston.
Encompass Health Houston opened to patients in 2024.
