June 19, 2025 - Michael Leopold has been appointed as chief executive officer of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Lake Worth. The hospital, under construction at 9719 Lantana Road, is a 50-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital and is expected to open to patients in October 2025.
As a physical therapist by background, Leopold brings 25 years of health care experience to his role as CEO. He previously worked for Broward Health Coral Springs as its chief operating officer. Leopold was responsible for a wide range of service lines, including rehabilitation, pharmacy, wound care, radiology, laboratory, environmental services, nutritional services, facilities, transport, security and large facility expansion projects. He also has experience as a director of rehabilitation services, where he was responsible for inpatient and outpatient therapy operations of a 400-bed facility.
“Michael is dedicated to creating hospital environments where clinicians can excel and provide high-quality care,” said Lori Bedard, president of Encompass Health’s Southeast region. “He will have tremendous success leading the Lake Worth team to provide customized rehabilitation for our patients.”
Leopold earned a master’s degree in business administration from South University and a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from Daemen College. He is also a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Encompass Health Lake Worth is one of five hospitals Encompass Health is opening in Florida in 2025.
