Oct. 21, 2026 – Richard Duvall has been appointed chief executive officer of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Lakeland. The 50-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital is located at 1201 Oakbridge Parkway and serves patients following life-changing events, such as strokes, brain or spinal cord injuries or complex neurological conditions.
“I am excited to join Encompass Health Lakeland and lead a team that shares a strong commitment to patient care,” Duvall said. “I look forward to building on the hospital’s success and working together to ensure patients and families receive high-quality, compassionate rehabilitation services.”
Duvall brings more than 20 years of healthcare leadership experience to the role, spanning acute care, assisted living and skilled nursing settings. He has experience directing strategy, operations and governance across health systems. Duvall is a proven leader in aligning physician strategy with service line performance and delivering sustainable results that enhance patient care.
“Richard’s healthcare experience and strong understanding of hospital operations make him well suited to lead Encompass Health Lakeland,” said Lori Bedard, president of Encompass Health’s Southeast region. “His commitment to patients and employees will be valuable as the hospital continues meeting the rehabilitation needs of the Lakeland community.”
Duvall earned a master’s degree in healthcare management from American InterContinental University and a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from Walden University. He completed the Healthcare Leadership Advancement Program at Cornell University and is a member of the National Rural Health Association and the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
Encompass Health Lakeland opened to patients in 2022.
