Nov. 4, 2025 – Kristy Bruner has been appointed chief executive officer of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Lakeview. The 40-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital is located at 134 Heartland Drive in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, and serves patients following a life-changing illness or injury.
“It is a privilege to lead the dedicated team at Encompass Health Lakeview,” said Bruner. “The services this hospital provides the Elizabethtown community make a significant impact on lives every day. I look forward to building upon the high-quality rehabilitative care we are known for.”
Bruner previously served as vice president of development for Encompass Health’s corporate development team, located at the Company’s Home Office in Birmingham, Alabama. In this role, she directed new market development for four regions to increase patient access to inpatient rehabilitation. Prior to joining Encompass Health, Bruner served as senior director of business development and as chief executive officer for a 60-bed long-term acute care hospital.
“Kristy brings a deep understanding of hospital operations, cultivating strategic partnerships and leading high-performing teams,” said Abe Sims, president of Encompass Health’s MidAtlantic region. “She is experienced on driving initiatives that improve patient satisfaction and shape a culture of excellence. I know she will have great success at Encompass Health Lakeview.”
Bruner holds a Master of Healthcare Administration from Ohio University and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Southern Indiana. She is also a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Encompass Health Lakeview opened to patients in 1997 and is accredited with The Joint Commission for Stroke and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
