ALDIE, Va., Jan. 28, 2026 - Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Northern Virginia, an inpatient rehabilitation hospital, has unveiled 20 new private rooms and a large dayroom. The expansion allows Encompass Health Northern Virginia to meet the rehabilitation needs of Loudoun County and the surrounding areas — increasing the total bed count to 80.
“This is an exciting day for our community and the patients we serve,” said Vidhya Kannan, CEO of Encompass Health Northern Virginia. “The addition helps ease the post-acute care burden, allowing more patients the access to the care they need after a traumatic event.”
Encompass Health Northern Virginia provides advanced care to patients recovering from stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury and other complex neurological and orthopedic conditions. The hospital team, comprised of physical, occupational and speech therapists, physicians, nurses, dietitians, pharmacists and case managers, combine the latest technologies, real-world simulations and advanced therapies into customized treatment plans. The hospital's purpose is to help restore patients' independence and quality of life.
“We often have a waitlist of patients needing the level of rehabilitative care we provide,” Kannan said. “The investment of this new unit underscores our commitment to the community in meeting these intensive rehabilitative needs.”
Construction started in January 2025. The hospital opened to patients in June 2010 and holds accreditations from The Joint Commission in Stroke and Brain Injury Rehabilitation.
