March 17, 2026 — Chiamaka Itsuokor has been appointed chief executive officer of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Round Rock, a 75-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital located at 1400 Hester's Crossing.
“Having grown within this organization for many years, I'm grateful for the trust placed in me and excited to continue the hard work we do at Encompass Health Round Rock,” Itsuokor said.
Itsuokor, a physical therapist by training, brings 19 years of health care experience to the role. She previously served as interim CEO for the hospital and joined Encompass Health in 2014 as a physical therapist at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Northwest Tucson.
“Chiamaka has been an exceptional leader throughout her years with Encompass Health,” said Craig Funk, regional president of Encompass Health's Southwest region. “I am confident she will continue to strengthen the care we provide to our patients and the community.”
Itsuokor has also served as a physical therapist, director of therapy operations and an associate administrator within Encompass Health. Itsuokor earned a doctorate in physical therapy from A.T. Still University, a master's degree in business administration from Grand Canyon University and a bachelor's degree in physiotherapy from the University of Ibadan. She is certified in neurodevelopmental therapy and was named Employee of the Year at Encompass Health Northwest Tucson in 2015.
Encompass Health Round Rock provides essential rehabilitative services that help patients recovering from strokes, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, amputations and complex orthopedic conditions regain function and independence. Patients will receive a minimum of three hours of intensive therapy five days each week, frequent physician visits and 24-hour nursing care.
