Oct. 14, 2025 – David Fredericks has been appointed as chief executive officer of Rusk Rehabilitation Hospital, a joint venture between Encompass Health and MU Health Care. The 60-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital is located at 315 Business Loop 70 West in Columbia, Missouri.
“Rusk Rehabilitation Hospital has been serving patients since 1997,” said Fredericks. “This hospital is known for providing high-quality rehabilitative care. I look forward to leading our expert team in continuing to provide excellent care for our patients.”
Fredericks, a physical therapist by background, began his career with Encompass Health and has been with the Company for more than 13 years. From 2019 to 2022, he served at Rusk Rehabilitation Hospital as director of therapy operations. He most recently held the CEO role at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Lakeview in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Fredericks is highly skilled in operational excellence and quality care.

Fredericks holds a Master of Business Administration from Texas A&M University of Corpus Christi and a Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University. Fredericks has been a frequent presenter and co-author at a variety of national and local conferences hosted by organizations such as the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses, American Academy of Neurology and University of Nebraska Medical Center.
