April 2, 2026 — Today, Saint Alphonsus Regional Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of Encompass Health, unveiled additions to the hospital. The hospital opened a new unit of 20 private patient beds, bringing its total bed count to 60. Hospital leaders also introduced a new, state-of-the-art, four-chair hemodialysis suite, which allows patients to remain onsite for vital dialysis treatments. Offering onsite dialysis allows patients more comfort and ease while completing intensive therapy.
“This expansion represents more than growth,” said Joe Griffin, the hospital’s CEO. “It represents our commitment to meeting the increasing rehabilitation needs of our community.”
The expansion added approximately 14,000 square feet to the hospital’s footprint. Saint Alphonsus Rehabilitation Hospital, a joint venture between Encompass Health and Saint Alphonsus Health System, provides essential rehabilitation services that help patients recovering from strokes, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, amputations and complex orthopedic conditions regain functional ability, independence and quality of life.
“With the additional patient rooms, we’ll be able to serve more patients, reduce delays in access to care and continue delivering high-quality rehabilitation close to home,” Griffin said. “We’re proud of where we are and excited about where we’re going.”
Saint Alphonsus Regional Rehabilitation Hospital opened to patients in 2019.
