Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Athens honors Farrah Haney as OEAA region recipient

Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Athens is proud to recognize Farrah Haney, receptionist, as the South Atlantic region recipient of Encompass Health’s 2025 Outstanding Employee Achievement Award (OEAA). The OEAA program celebrates exceptional employees who go above and beyond for patients and families, exemplifying Encompass Health’s values.

Making the most of the single chance to create a first impression, Haney meets everyone she encounters with heart. Hospital staff say she warmly welcomes all visitors and thoughtfully creates a zone of respite and safety for patients, families and other employees in need of positivity. Her area is neat and inviting, and she patiently engages everyone with concern and kindness.

Exceptionally creative, Haney plans a seemingly endless array of fun activities that lift spirits and add joy to recovery. On Fridays, you’ll find her conducting balloon tosses, dancing sessions, guitar concerts or holiday caroling. She leads the hospital events committee and spearheads initiatives such as the No Fall Festival, Heart Walk campaign and annual Angel Tree donations. Cross-trained to fill in for case management staff or work as a unit secretary, she exemplifies teamwork and positivity through her infectious energy.

Haney accepted her award during a celebratory gala on May 6 at the Country Club of Birmingham in Birmingham, Alabama — home to Encompass Health’s Home Office — with attendees including the Company’s board of directors, executive and regional leaders, recipients and their guests.
