Caleb Brown's Story - FOX 35 Orlando
Oct. 27, 2025 – Caleb Brown, a youth sports broadcaster in Brevard County, Florida, discharged from Sea Pines Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of Encompass Health, following an intense road of recovery. Brown suffered a fall while providing coverage of a youth football game in September. He fell approximately 20 feet after a gust of wind knocked the scaffolding he was broadcasting from to the ground. Brown experienced several severe injuries involving his pelvis and other organs.
“When you have a velocity injury like that where you fall, you can have a break or rupture of the bladder or inflammation,” said Juan Lebron, medical director of Sea Pines Rehabilitation Hospital, in an interview with FOX 35-Orlando.
Brown spent three weeks at Sea Pines Rehabilitation Hospital working with occupational and physical therapists to recover. He says he still has a long road to a full recovery.
“I miss it [youth sports] more than words can honestly express,” Brown said.
Lebron credits Brown’s attitude and motivation as key factors in his success at Sea Pines Rehabilitation Hospital.
“Caleb had the right attitude,” Lebron said. “If you want to get back to your life, you have to be positive about your recovery.”
