Chief Executive Officer
Ivette Miranda joined Encompass Health in October 2014 and brings more than 15 years of healthcare leadership experience to her role. Ivette graduated with a bachelor's degree in organizational management from Palm Beach Atlantic University and a master's of business administration from the University of Phoenix. Ivette's extensive experience includes acute care hospital leadership roles including chief operating officer, associate administrator and business office director. In addition, Ivette provided several years of healthcare consulting services to acute hospitals throughout the country.
After undergraduate studies at the University of Alabama, Dr. Chastain graduated from medical school at the University of Alabama in Birmingham in 1988. He completed internship and residency in internal medicine at UAB in 1991 and began practice in Dothan, Alabama the same year. During his time in Dothan, he gained 16 years of experience in inpatient rehabilitation with Encompass Health, formerly HealthSouth, including functioning as the medical director. He completed a fellowship in vascular medicine in Greenville, South Carolina in 2012 and is now board certified in internal medicine and vascular medicine. Special interests include peripheral arterial disease, stroke prevention, venous thrombosis, noninvasive vascular testing and vascular rehabilitation. He and his wife Sheila have been married for over 30 years and have two children.
Stephen Chastain, M.D. is an independent private practice physician whose office is located at the hospital.
Chief Nursing Officer
Charmaine brings 16 years of healthcare leadership experience to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of Martin Health, formerly HealthSouth. She graduated with an Associate of Science in nursing from Broward Community and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University. She also has her Master of Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University. Charmaine’s experience includes acute care hospital leadership in assistant chief nursing officer, director of inpatient surgical services, clinical manager and nursing supervisor.
Director of Human Resources
Anna brings a wealth of human resources experience to Encompass Health Martin, formerly HealthSouth. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science in human resources management and continued on to obtain her master’s degree in business administration from Rider University. Anna's human resources background is both extensive and diverse ranging from the fields of healthcare, hospitality to design. Her expertise includes recruitment and retention, training and development, and performance management.
Facilities Management Director
Randal brings more than 14 years of healthcare facility management to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of Martin Health, formerly HealthSouth. His experience comes from a wide variety of different facilities including Veteran Affairs healthcare, large for profit hospitals and a critical access hospital in a rural setting. As a graduate of the University of Oklahoma, he received a bachelor’s degree in administrative leadership. Randal is a veteran, completing 21 years of service in the Navy obtaining the rank of chief petty officer.
Director of Quality and Risk Management
Rachel serves as the director of quality & risk management at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of Martin Health. As a former ortho-neuro trauma nurse, Rachel brings over 16 years of expertise in healthcare specializing in quality assurance, regulatory compliance, performance improvement, and accreditation. She graduated with an associate's degree from Northeast Iowa Community College and a bachelor's degree in healthcare management degree from Bellevue University. Rachel takes pride in knowing that the quality and risk departments play a major role in steering the hospital to provide safe and quality care to our patients.
Director of Nutrition Services
Matt brings more than 20 years of professional cooking and hospitality experience to his role as director of nutrition services. After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, Matt honed his cooking skills in various restaurants and hotels in his home state of Maryland before moving to New Jersey and transitioning to food service in healthcare. He served as the executive chef at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and the executive chef of Northwestern Medical Center in Saint Albans, VT, prior to joining Encompass Health, formerly HealthSouth, in 2016.
Business Development Director
For the past 20 years, Kathy O’Hanna’s focus has been in healthcare marketing and business development. She has experience working in pharmaceutical sales, durable medical equipment, home health care and hospice. Most recently, she served as the division director of sales and business development for Life Care Centers of America. In her role, she was responsible for the oversight of the admissions and marketing teams for 21 skilled nursing facilities throughout the Florida. Her favorite part of healthcare marketing is the primary focus on the patients and those who care for them. Kathy earned her bachelor’s degree in marketing from Florida State University.
Director of Therapy Operations
Christa serves as director of therapy operations at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of Martin Health, formerly HealthSouth. She joined the Encompass Health team more than 14 years ago as an occupational therapist. She has held various positions including senior occupational therapist, therapy team leader and most recently therapy manager. She graduated in 2003, from the University of Florida with a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy with honors. Inpatient rehabilitation has always been Christa’s passion with the patient experience being her priority. She enjoys helping patients return to functioning in their homes and communities.
Dawn brings more than 15 years of healthcare financial management experience to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of Martin Health, formerly HealthSouth. Her prior experience includes acute-care as well as various healthcare management companies. Dawn received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida. She has been a resident of Stuart, Florida for over 20 years.
Director of Case Management
Bonnie brings more than 25 years of case management experience to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of Martin Health, formerly HealthSouth. She graduated from West Chester State University in West Chester, Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in nursing. Bonnie’s professional background also includes experience in neurological ICU, dialysis, hospice, home health care and stroke coordination. Bonnie was a founding member of the Georgia Professional Stroke Association. She is currently an active member of the American Case Management Association.
Director of Pharmacy
Ioana Workman utilizes her leadership experience in multiple healthcare roles to guide her position as director of pharmacy at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of Martin Health. Ioana’s dedication to medicine began with her contribution as a registered nurse, then continued with her influence as a charge nurse. She then went on to graduate with honors from the University of Florida with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree to advance her career. Ioana enjoyed her involvement as a clinical pharmacist, and she is enthusiastic to grow with a wonderful team.
