Paul's Story - Recovering from Stroke to Get Back to Teaching

As Paul sat quietly in his room at The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis waiting for his next round of therapy to start, he pulled what appeared to be a never-ending stack of handmade cards written by his students out of a bag that was delivered by his daughter, Kristen.

Jeff Reese named Area CEO within Encompass Health’s Central Region

Jeff Reese has been appointed as area chief executive officer within Encompass Health’s Central Region. In his position as area CEO, Reese will oversee all of the day-to-day operations and patient care and quality at two Missouri hospitals – Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of St. Louis in Central West End and Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of St. Louis in St. Peters – and the Rehabilitation Institute of Southern Illinois in Shiloh.

Shivani Bass named CEO of The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis at St. Peters

Shivani Bass has been appointed as chief executive officer of The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis at St. Peters, an affiliation of BJC HealthCare and Encompass Health. In her position as CEO, Bass will oversee all of the day-to-day operations as well as patient care and quality at the 35-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital located at 10 Hospital Drive in St. Peters. She assumed the position in September 2021.
