Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Sioux Falls is a 40 bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital that offers comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation services designed to return patients to leading active and independent lives.
Our hospital provides a wide range of physical rehabilitation services, a vast network of highly-skilled physicians and therapists, and the most innovative equipment and rehabilitation technology, ensuring that all patients have access to the highest quality care. Designed with our patient’s care in mind, Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Sioux Falls offers private rooms with insert amenities like televisions, telephones and wireless internet capabilities.
The hospital will serve patients who are recovering from conditions such as strokes and other neurological disorders, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic conditions and cardiac and pulmonary conditions.

Chief Executive Officer
Michael assumed the role of CEO at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Sioux Falls in January 2020. He came to Encompass Health Sioux Falls after serving nine years with Avera St. Luke’s Hospital in Aberdeen, where he held positions of CEO and vice president of business development. He received a bachelor’s degree in health care administration from the University of South Dakota and holds membership with the American Hospital Association, the South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations, Northeast South Dakota Area Health Education Center.
Dr. Jeremy Storm was born and raised in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of South Dakota, and with honors from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Following this, Dr. Storm completed his internal medicine residency at the USD Sanford School of Medicine, and his infectious disease fellowship at the University of Iowa. Dr. Storm has been in private practice, infectious disease and telemedicine for over 10 years, and believes in building long-term relationships with patients and providers alike. In addition, Dr. Storm sits on state and national committees related to telemedicine and appropriate antibiotic prescribing. Dr. Storm believes that patients deserve more than healthcare can currently offer, which is why he works tirelessly to ensure positive outcomes for his patients.
Chief Nursing Officer
Kris brings 25 years' experience in acute care to her role as chief nursing officer. She has worked in the capacity of bedside nursing to leadership roles throughout her career and brings a passion for offering an environment of exceptional care by focusing on the patient family centered experience, ensuring exceptional quality care and patient safety. Kris earned her bachelor's degree in nursing from South Dakota State University and her Executive Master of Public Administration degree from the University of South Dakota.
Facilities Management Director
Jaysen Grandshaw is the facility management director for Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Sioux Falls in South Dakota, where he manages dietary, housekeeping, transportation and maintenance of the building. He holds an associate degree in HVAC from Spartan College at Westminster Co. In addition, he has more than 18 years of mechanical and managerial experience and is currently serving in the South Dakota National Guard. He has obtained certifications in asbestos and silica removal and awareness, Hazardous Waste Disposal for Healthcare Facilities, Emergency Preparedness in a Healthcare Facility, OSHA Back Injury Awareness, OSHA Electrical Awareness, OSHA Respiratory protection and OSHA Ladder Safety. He is also an active member with NFPA and FEMA.
Director of Pharmacy
Lora Hummel-Koch serves as the pharmacy director for Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Sioux Falls. She has held leadership roles as director and consultant pharmacist with more than 31 years of experience in providing quality pharmaceutical and clinical services to retail, hospital, home care and Veteran health settings. Lora received her pharmacy degree from South Dakota State University College of Pharmacy. In addition, she has a track record of maintaining positive relationships with the people she serves and providing exceptional customer service with compassion and a team contributor.
Before joining Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Sioux Falls, Elisha worked in various financial roles within healthcare for more than 12 years. Elisha is responsible for enabling an environment that allows for the highest quality of care by directing the accounting and finance functions of the hospital. Elisha received her bachelor’s degree in professional accountancy from Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Director of Therapy Operations
Maria Klamm has spent her career working with individuals with neurological conditions as an occupational therapist. She received her bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from the University of North Dakota in 1993 and her master’s degree in business administration from the University of Sioux Falls In 2007. She is a member of the South Dakota and American Occupational Therapy Association.
Human Resources Director
Katie Koopman brings more than 13 years of human resources experience to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Sioux Falls. Her passion is for people, and she enjoys helping the organization and its employees achieve their goals. Katie graduated from the University of Nebraska at Kearney and holds a master’s degree in business administration.
Director of Case Management
Jami has worked in healthcare for more than 13 years and brings three years of case management experience to her role at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Sioux Falls. She graduated from Mount Marty College with a bachelor’s degree in nursing and subsequently received a master’s degree from Walden University in nursing leadership and management. Jami’s goal is to provide patients with an excellent experience at Encompass Health Sioux Falls as well as a safe and seamless discharge to the community.
Director of Quality and Risk Management
Cassandra Schupner serves as the director of quality and risk for Encompass Health Sioux Falls. She was born and raised in South Dakota and attended Dakota State University in Madison, SD, where she received her degree in Health Information Administration. Cassandra has an extensive background in compliance, quality, and training. She has worked in a variety of settings including LifeScape and Sanford Health. Cassandra has a passion for constantly striving for continuous improvement and to provide the best possible patient experience.
Business Development Director
Becky serves as the business development director at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Sioux Falls. She brings more than 15 years of healthcare experience to her role, which includes her experience as a nurse in cardiovascular, neuro, spine, reconstructive, orthopedic and general surgery. In addition, she has held the roles of clinic manager, implementation manager, recruiting consultant, and as a director at a new hospital, responsible for cardiovascular services, interventional radiology, PACU, patient center, infusion, chemo and PICCs. Becky, a native of South Dakota, completed her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Presentation College in Aberdeen, South Dakota. She is committed to connecting patients to rehabilitative care that makes a difference in their lives.
