Cheryl Miller honored with prestigious AOTA Fellowship

Encompass Health Vice President of Therapy Operations Cheryl Miller, OTR/L, DrOT, has been awarded a Fellowship from the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), one of the highest honors in the occupational therapy profession. The AOTA Fellowship recognizes individuals who have made sustained, impactful contributions through leadership, education, practice and research.

Miller’s career reflects a deep commitment to advancing occupational therapy and improving patient outcomes. She is known for her focus on evidence-based practice and her ability to translate research into meaningful, patient-centered care that helps individuals regain independence and participate more fully in daily life.

A certified professional development coach, Miller currently supports leaders across Encompass Health, helping them grow professionally and strengthen clinical and operational practice. Her dedication to mentorship and leadership development has made a lasting impact on colleagues throughout the organization and the broader rehabilitation community.

Miller earned her undergraduate degree from Florida International University in Miami and her doctorate degree in occupational therapy from Nova Southeastern University. She is a longstanding member of AOTA and currently serves on the governing board of the American Occupational Therapy Foundation, where she previously served as a member of the board of trustees.

Miller’s recognition reflects both her personal dedication to the profession and Encompass Health’s commitment to advancing clinical excellence through leadership, education and collaboration. She accepted the award at AOTA’s 2026 Awards and Recognitions ceremony on April 25, 2026.
