Aug. 22, 2025 – For the third consecutive year, Sea Pines Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of Encompass Health, was named Brevard Community’s Choice Awards winner in the rehabilitation facility category. The awards celebrate the best businesses and organizations in the area as chosen by the community. Nominations were accepted in March followed by community voting in May.
“Winning the ‘Best of Brevard’ award for the third consecutive year is an incredible honor and a reflection of the unwavering commitment of our entire team,” said Mark Racicot, chief executive officer of Sea Pines Rehabilitation Hospital. “I couldn’t be prouder of the compassion, skill and dedication our staff brings to patient care every day. This recognition isn’t just about our hospital; it’s about the lives we help rebuild and the trust our community places in us.”
Racicot says the award is especially meaningful, because it is determined by the community.
“It reflects the trust our patients and their families place in us during some of the most challenging moments of their lives,” said Racicot. “This award means our neighbors know they can count on world-class rehabilitation care right here at home.”
Sea Pines Rehabilitation Hospital is a 90-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital with an interdisciplinary team of physical, occupational and speech therapists; physicians; nurses; dietitians; pharmacists and case managers. The hospital serves patients who have suffered life-changing illnesses or injuries, including stroke, spinal cord injury and other neurological and complex orthopedic conditions.
Racicot’s goal year after year is to continue striving for excellence in rehabilitative care and raising the standard of care.
“As our community grows, Sea Pines is committed to meeting the needs of an increasing number of patients, while ensuring every individual receives the highest quality care,” said Racicot. “We want to build on our success, expand our impact and help even more people regain their independence and quality of life.”
The hospital has been serving patients since 1986 and holds The Joint Commission Disease-Specific Care Certification for Stroke and Hip Fracture Rehabilitation.
