March 4, 2026 — Encompass Health Vice President of Operations Support Elaine Prince recently attended and presented at the 2026 Federation of American Hospitals (FAH) Conference and Business Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada. Prince presented on the importance and impact of understanding supply chain disruptions and steps health care supply chain teams can take to embed resiliency in operations. FAH’s annual conference draws supply chain leaders and health care suppliers. Attendees engage in discussions about navigating instability in global sourcing.
Prince explained the benefits of investing in proactive risk identification to better position a health care company to maintain quality care to its patients. She highlighted the role of predictive analytics, real-time inventory visibility and strengthened supplier partnerships in helping health systems respond more quickly to change.
“Resiliency is not a post-pandemic trend, but rather something we need to incorporate into every aspect of how we provide supplies, equipment and services to health care providers,” said Prince. “We need to continue to make improvements and understand that the asks, data and repercussions are how we all ensure we have the infrastructure and processes to improve the likelihood that our staff will have what they need when they need it to provide the best care to our patients.”
Prince leads Encompass Health’s national supply chain operations. Her team manages contracting, value analysis, supply assurance and procurement systems that support both clinical and non-clinical hospital needs. She also oversees national equipment implementations and leads the Company’s supplier diversity initiatives. She holds a master’s degree in health systems from Georgia Tech and a bachelor’s degree in industrial and systems engineering from Auburn University.
