Chief Executive Officer
Denise brings more than 30 years of experience in healthcare administration in both acute care and acute rehabilitation hospital settings. Denise has been employed with Encompass Health, formerly HealthSouth since 1986 and has served in multiple roles within the company and assisted in various regions with administration, compliance and nursing issues. She graduated from Loyola University of Chicago with a bachelor’s degree in nursing.
Dr. Juan Lebron* is the medical director at Sea Pines Rehabilitation Hospital. He is board certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Lebron earned his medical degree from the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara in Mexico, and joined Sea Pines Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of Encompass Health, upon completion of his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) at the State University of New York in Syracuse, N.Y. As a native of Humacao, Puerto Rico, Dr. Lebron is fluent in Spanish and has settled into the Brevard County lifestyle comfortably. He is happy to see patients in the only acute rehabilitation hospital setting in Brevard County, where he specializes in the rehabilitation of patients with conditions such as stroke, neurological disorders, hip fracture, traumatic brain injury and amputation. In addition, he has expanded into outpatient rehabilitation for continuum of care. Dr. Lebron is currently seeing patients in the inpatient setting at Sea Pines Rehabilitation Hospital and can be consulted at several acute hospitals for any PM&R needs.
Dr. Juan Lebron is an independent private practice physician whose office is located at the hospital.
Director of Therapy Operations
Kersten has been a physical therapist for more than 13 years and has worked in inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, home health care and long term acute care both as a staff therapist and a director. She joined with Encompass Health, formerly HealthSouth Sea Pines team in the fall of 2012. Kersten is a graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina with a master’s of science in rehabilitation sciences degree, and a doctor of physical therapy degree.
Chief Financial Officer
A 28-year Encompass Health, formerly HealthSouth Sea Pines Rehabilitation Hospital veteran, Dana has nearly 20 years of healthcare experience. She is responsible for all accounting functions, including patient business services, accounts payable, payroll, purchasing, medical records and dietary. Dana is a 1996 graduate of Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, with a master’s degree in business administration specializing in hospital administration.
Director of Quality and Risk Management
Kerri joined Encompass Health Sea Pines in September 2016 and brings with her more than 15 years of experience as a registered nurse in the acute care setting. She earned her bachelor's degree in business management and went on to receive her bachelor’s degree in nursing in 2003 from Barry University. Kerri has served in multiple roles within the company. Prior to joining Encompass Health Sea Pines, Kerri worked in the acute care settings, both for-profit and not-for-profit hospitals in various leadership and operational roles and with a focus in infection prevention and education.
Director of Case Management
After obtaining her bachelor’s degree in therapeutic recreation from Illinois State University, Karen joined Encompass Health Sea Pines, formerly HealthSouth Sea Pines in 1996 as a recreational therapist. Karen continued her education and received her registered nursing degree from Eastern Florida State College. She is a Certified Case Manager with more than 13 years’ experience in case management.
Chief Nursing Officer
Agnes joined Encompass Health Sea Pines, formerly HealthSouth Sea Pines in April 2016 and brings with her more than 30 years of experience as a registered nurse. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Philippine Women’s University and her Master of Science degree in nursing healthcare administration and healthcare finance from Florida Atlantic University. Prior to joining Encompass Health Sea Pines, formerly HealthSouth Sea Pines, Agnes worked in acute care settings, both for-profit and not-for-profit, as well as in teaching hospitals in various executive and operational roles; most recently as regional patient experience manager for South Florida.
Business Development Director
Greg joined Encompass Health Sea Pines Rehabilitation Hospital, formerly HealthSouth Sea Pines Rehabilitation Hospital in 2005, where his hospital responsibilities include oversight of the marketing, business development, and admissions functions. He is a 1985 graduate of Western Illinois University with more than 25 years of experience in healthcare marketing, business development and managed care.
Director of Human Resources
Nupur is a process and people-improvement-driven human resources professional with a master’s degree in industrial/organizational psychology from the Florida Institute of Technology. A SHRM Certified Professional, she possesses more than six years of core human resources experience in the areas of recruitment, national and international on/off-boarding, vendor management, skills development training, and policy drafting and interpretation. In her current role at Sea Pines Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of Encompass Health her core functions include recruiting, onboarding, orientation, compliance reporting, training and development, policy communication and interpretation. Her areas of interest include diversity and inclusion, organizational development, training and development as well as human resources operations improvement.
