Chief Executive Officer
Jeff was named chief executive officer of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Spring Hill, formerly HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Spring Hill in April 2017. Prior to joining Encompass Health Spring Hill, he served as the CEO of a 34-bed long term acute care hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. Jeff achieved a bachelor’s degree in communications from University of Illinois at Springfield and a master’s degree in business administration from Benedictine University.
Dr. Michael Ahuja joined as medical director in November 2017. He is board certified in physical medicine & rehabilitation, and is a member of American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He completed his medical doctorate residency training at Washington University School of Medicine in St Louis, Mo. Prior to medical school, he completed his MBA in healthcare management from Davenport University in Michigan. Dr. Ahuja has a special focus to improve performance indicators and quality metrics among patients with stroke and brain injury. He strives to make patient care an individualized experience. Prior to his position as medical director, he worked at Halifax Health/Brooks in Daytona Beach. When not working Dr. Ahuja enjoys traveling and spending time with his family.
Chief Nursing Officer
Michelle has been the director of nursing for Encompass Health, formerly HealthSouth for 10 years. She has been a registered nurse for nearly 30 years and has been working in acute physical rehabilitation for the past 23 years. She has held various nursing leadership positions throughout her time in rehabilitation. Michelle has worked in a variety of clinical settings including critical care, medical surgical and rehabilitation nursing. Michelle graduated from the Pottsville Hospital School of Nursing in Pennsylvania and is currently working on completing her bachelor’s degree in nursing through Old Dominion University.
Director of Therapy Operations
Andrew has been employed by HealthSouth since 1997 and has been a director of therapy operations since 2003. He assisted with the start up of both Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Panama City, Florida, and Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Spring Hill. Andrew graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy. Andrew has more than 15 years of healthcare experience.
Business Development Director
Chris brings more than 20 years of healthcare management and business development expertise to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Spring Hill, formerly HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Spring Hill. He graduated with degrees in cardiopulmonary sciences and healthcare management. Chris has extensive experience in acute and post-acute care. His team completes clinical evaluations, provides marketing support, public relations and inpatient rehabilitation education to a wide geographic service area.
Director of Plant Operations
Originally from Pennsylvania, Jack brings more than 24 years of healthcare-based plant operations experience with 15 years in a management role. He assisted in opening the hospital in 2003. Jack graduated from CHI Institute in 1992 with his diploma in HVAC technology.He holds his Certified Healthcare Engineer Certification from Florida Healthcare Engineers Associations and his Florida State Security Officers license.
Kimberly is a certified public accountant with nearly 15 years of accounting and finance experience. She joined Encompass Health, formerly HealthSouth in 2010. Prior to that, she was an assistant vice president with a real estate finance company with an emphasis on financial projections and reporting. She graduated from the University of Florida with a master’s degree in accounting.
Director of Quality/Risk
Amy brings more than 20 years of diverse healthcare experience in clinical staffing and scheduling, education, quality management and both practical and registered nursing to the Encompass Health, formerly HealthSouth, Spring Hill. She is dedicated to a culture of excellence, professionalism and quality outcomes through collaborative practice with patient and family centered care.
Amy previously worked at Encompass Health a nursing scheduler from 2003 to 2005 before leaving to pursue other interests and become a licensed practical nurse. She returned in 2014 as the quality and risk coordinator before being promoted to the director of risk and quality management in May 2018. Amy graduated from Pasco-Hernando State College with an Associate in Science in registered nursing and plans to pursue her bachelor’s degree in nursing.
Director of Human Resources
Mary brings more than 10 years of prior human resources experience to the Encompass Health, formerly HealthSouth team. Mary’s experience includes multi-unit human resources management with a focus on organizational development. In 2002, she graduated from the University of Central Florida with a master's degree in management, specializing in human resources and change management.
Director of Case Management
Michael brings more than 10 years of case management experience to the Encompass Health Spring Hill, formerly HealthSouth Spring Hill team. He holds a certification in case management from the CCMC®, and has a background in intensive case management with special focus on dual diagnosis populations. Michael joined HealthSouth in 2007, and holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Hawaii Pacific University, and a dual master's Degree in mental health & rehabilitation counseling from the University of South Florida.
