Michael Koniuch
MICHAEL KONIUCH

Medical Director

Dr. Koniuch is a board-certified physiatrist who practices general acute inpatient rehabilitation medicine and treats a variety of neurological and musculoskeletal diseases.

Dr. Koniuch is a board-certified physiatrist who practices general acute inpatient rehabilitation medicine and treats a variety of neurological and musculoskeletal diseases (including stroke, traumatic brain injury, amputation, spinal cord injury and many others). He has been a physiatrist at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Utah, formerly HealthSouth since August 2016, He is currently medical director and medical staff president. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a major in cognitive and behavioral neurosciences. He completed medical school at Wayne State University, an internship at Henry Ford Hospital and his PM&R residency at Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital.

Human Resources Director

Owen manages human resources, workers’ compensation, and medical staff credentialing for the hospital.

Owen manages human resources, workers’ compensation, and medical staff credentialing for the hospital. Owen graduated from Brigham Young University with a Master of Science with an emphasis in youth and family recreation. He has his Professional in Human Resources Certification and is a member the National and Utah Society for Human Resources. He enjoys fly fishing and playing with his family.

Brenda has been with Encompass Health, formerly HealthSouth, for seven years under the capacity of case management.

Brenda has been with Encompass Health, formerly HealthSouth, for seven years under the capacity of case management. She has been a social worker for 23 years and has worked in a variety of settings. She graduated from the University of Wyoming with a bachelor’s degree in social work.

Chris Rock has over 15 years of experience in quality and risk management in the healthcare industry. Prior to joining Encompass Health, formerly HealthSouth, he held risk/quality/compliance positions for several community hospitals and organizations in Utah. Chris holds a BSN and MBA/HSA degree. He enjoys working on process improvement and ensuring that our patients and families receive a high quality of care and excellent patient experience during their stay at Encompass Health.

Connie has been a practicing physical therapist for more than 13 years.

Connie has been a practicing physical therapist for more than 13 years. She received her bachelor’s degree in physical education from Utah State University in 2001 and her master’s degree in physical therapy from the University of Utah in 2004. Connie has worked in multiple areas of physical therapy including outpatient therapy, acute care, home health, acute rehabilitation and has nearly 10 years of management experience. She loves to serve individuals through rehabilitation and enjoys assisting people back to their fullest potential. Currently Connie is serving as the director of therapy at Encompass Health Utah, formerly HealthSouth Utah, and is working to create hospital based rehabilitation programs and encourage her staff to branch out in areas of specialization.
