At Walton Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of Encompass Health, we are committed to helping you regain independence after a life-changing illness or injury. Located in Augusta, we are a leading provider of inpatient physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech language pathology for stroke, brain injury and other complex neurological and orthopedic conditions.
Using clinical collaboration and advanced technologies, we provide a personalized care plan designed to meet your unique needs and help you achieve your goals.
Our inpatient rehabilitation hospital uses an interdisciplinary team approach that includes physical, speech and occupational therapists, rehabilitation physicians, rehabilitation nurses, case managers, dietitians and more, combined with our advanced technology and expertise, to help you achieve your goals. You will receive at least three hours of therapy five days per week while under the constant care of registered nurses, many of whom specialize in rehabilitation, and frequent independent private practice physician* visits.
Rehabilitation is covered in full or part by most health insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid. Our hospital has contracts with most major insurance companies and is willing to negotiate with other companies, as needed.

Chief Executive Officer
Eric joined Walton Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of Encompass Health, formerly HealthSouth Walton Rehabilitation Hospital in 2014 as chief executive officer. Prior to coming to Augusta, Ga., he held the regional director of therapy operations position for Encompass Health’s Southeast region, while also serving as the director of therapy operations at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Emerald Coast in Panama City, Fla. Eric has proven experience in the healthcare industry since 1999 that include both leadership and clinical positions within inpatient rehabilitation, acute care, and outpatient settings. Eric graduated with a bachelor's degree in occupational therapy from Tuskegee University and holds a master's degree in healthcare administration from Austin Peay State University.
Medical Director
Dr. Pamela B. Salazar received her medical degree from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. She completed her residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Mount Sinai Medical Center and a clinical fellowship in pediatric physical medicine and rehabilitation at Albert Einstein University. Her practice is focused on inpatient and outpatient services with an emphasis on neuro-rehabilitation. When not at work Dr. Salazar enjoys gardening, cooking and music.
Dr. Salazar is an independent private practice physician.
Director of Quality and Risk
Michael joined Walton Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of Encompass Health, formerly HealthSouth Walton Rehabilitation Hospital in 2019 as the director of quality and risk. In 2019, he retired from the Army after serving as active duty personnel for 24 year. Michael has held numerous positions in leadership, clinical, and held administrative positions in inpatient, outpatient, and deployed areas. He has a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Murray State University and a master’s degree in healthcare administration from Baylor University. He is also certified as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. He enjoys spending time with family, woodworking, and helping others.
Chief Nursing Officer
Megan joined Walton Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of Encompass Health, formerly HealthSouth Walton Rehabilitation Hospital in June of 2017 as the chief nursing officer. She has 20 years of nursing experience, 13 of which have been in various leadership roles. Megan has a bachelor’s degree in nursing, a master’s degree in business administration and is board certified for Advanced Nurse Executives. When not at work Megan enjoys spending time with family, golfing and interior decorating.
Director of Case Management
Neva joined Walton Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of Encompass Health, formerly HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Walton in 2016. She has more than 16 years of diverse healthcare experience and includes social work, case management and nursing. Neva has served in direct care and leadership roles. She has a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science and a Master of Nursing from Augusta University and Central Michigan University. Neva is certified as a clinical nurse leader and oncology nurse. She is dedicated to a culture of excellence, professionalism and quality outcomes through collaborative practice with patient- and family-centered care.
Director of Therapy Operations
Mozghan joined Walton Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of Encompass Health, formerly HealthSouth Walton Rehabilitation Hospital in 2018 as the director of therapy operations. Prior to coming to Augusta, Georgia, she served as director of therapy operations at Encompass Health Middletown Delaware. She received her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Neumann University in Aston, PA.
Mozghan has over 26 years of experience in rehabilitation management and clinical operations in acute rehabilitation, pediatrics, geriatrics and home health, with an emphasis on neurological rehabilitation. Her passion includes team building, delivering the highest quality care to our patients and the pursuit of life-long learning.
Director of Plant Operations
Frank began his career at HealthSouth Columbia, SC in 2011 as a maintenance technician and was promoted to director of plant operations for the Augusta facility in August 2015. His responsibilities include managing engineering, dietary, environmental services, security, and safety. Frank graduated from Midlands Technical College with an associate’s degree in industrial technologies.
Business Development Director
Courtney joined Walton Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of Encompass Health in 2020. She has a demonstrated proven history of success in healthcare with various leadership roles in development and growth of acute care, post-acute care, and home based care over the past 15 years. Courtney is also a nurse and brings a strong clinical background to the team. Originally from Greenville South Carolina, she now resides in Evans, Georgia and loves spending her free time on the lake with family.
Human Resources Director
Terrie Richardson joined Walton Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of Encompass Health, formerly HealthSouth Walton Rehabilitation Hospital in 2015 as the director of human resources. She has more than14 years experience in human resource management, 10 of those years in healthcare. She is a member of the National Society for Human Resource Management and a member of the Augusta Area Hospital Personnel Association. She enjoys traveling with her family and college football.
CFO/Controller
Diane joined the Encompass Health, formerly HealthSouth team in 2014 and is responsible for the overall financial management of the hospital. Diane has over 25 years of experience in financial leadership positions within the healthcare industry. She earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Toledo. She is a certified public accountant (CPA) with licensure in both Georgia and Ohio. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Georgia Society of CPAs. When not at work, she enjoys the outdoors.
