Located in Arlington and serving the surrounding areas including Waxahachie and Mansfield, we are a leading provider of inpatient rehabilitation for stroke, hip fracture, cardiac conditions and other complex neurological and orthopedic conditions.
Using clinical collaboration and advanced technologies, we provide a personalized care plan designed to meet your unique needs and help you achieve your goals.
Our inpatient rehabilitation hospital uses an interdisciplinary team approach that includes physical, speech and occupational therapists, rehabilitation physicians, rehabilitation nurses, case managers, dietitians and more, combined with our advanced technology and expertise, to help you achieve your goals. You will receive at least three hours of therapy five days per week while under the constant care of registered nurses, many of whom specialize in rehabilitation, and frequent independent private practice physician* visits.
Rehabilitation is covered in full or part by most health insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid. Our hospital has contracts with most major insurance companies and is willing to negotiate with other companies, as needed.

Chief Executive Officer
Ty Taplin joined Encompass Health Arlington in May 2018. As CEO, he oversees the day-to-day operations as well as patient care and quality at the inpatient rehabilitation hospital. He comes to Encompass Health Arlington after serving as CEO of Kindred Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. Ty has worked in a variety of healthcare roles starting his career as a human resources manager then moving into leadership roles such as executive fellow, associate administrator and CEO. A graduate of Dallas Baptist University, he completed his master’s degree in business administration. He also holds a second master’s degree in healthcare administration from the University of Texas at Arlington.

Director of Quality/Risk
Michele joined Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Arlington as the director of quality/risk in June 2020. With nearly 30 years in healthcare, Michele has worked as a registered nurse in many roles and with facilities providing varying levels of care. Michele believes in continuously improving healthcare through the engagement of all stakeholders. Michele received her bachelor’s degree from Cleveland State University and a dual master’s degree in both nursing and business administration, with a healthcare management focus, from the University of Phoenix.
Director of Facilities Management/ Safety Officer
Mark is responsible for the physical environment at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Arlington. His duties include regulatory compliance for TJC/CMS/TDH and OSHA as well as the day-to-day operations of the maintenance, environmental and dietary departments. Mark is a Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager with an extensive background in facility management. He is an active member of TAHFM, ASHE, NFPA, FEMA and actively participates in the North Central Texas Trauma Regional Advisory Council.
Chief Financial Officer/Controller
Katherine joined the team as chief financial officer in June 2008. She is a certified public accountant and has a bachelor's degree in accounting from Southwestern Adventist University. Katherine has nearly 20 years of experience in healthcare finance and administration.
Director of Case Management
Barbara has been with Encompass Health since September 1995. She started in Midland as a case manager, then was promoted to director of case management. She also served as the regional case management trainer for the Southwest region. She recently relocated to Arlington from Encompass Health’s Round Rock hospital location and has been at Encompass Health Arlington since March 2019.
Director of Therapy Operations
Jennifer serves as director of therapy operations at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Arlington, formerly HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Arlington. Prior to joining the Encompass Health team, she was a multi-site director of rehabilitation for Peoplefirst Rehab, which is a division of Kindred Healthcare. Before moving to Texas, Jennifer worked as an occupational therapist at Southwestern Medical Center in Lawton, Oklahoma on both their rehabilitation and behavioral health units. She graduated from Cameron University in 1998 with a bachelor's degree in biology and then from Texas Woman’s University in 2001 with a master's degree in occupational therapy.
Director of Human Resources
Erin joined Encompass as the director of human resources in 2019. With almost 20 years of human resources experience specifically in the healthcare setting. Erin believes in providing care and support to our team of professionals so they can take the best care of our patients. Erin holds a bachelor’s degree from Colgate University and an MBA from Texas Woman’s University, and is dually certified in human resources by the Society of Human Resource Management and the Human Resource Certification Institute. She has previously served on the board of directors of the Dallas Fort Worth Healthcare Human Resources Association and is bilingual in Spanish.
Business Development Director
Rachel joined Encompass Health in 2012 at the City View hospital location and was promoted to business development director of Arlington in October 2017. She has 10 years’ experience in sales, operations and leadership specific to healthcare. In her current role she is responsible for the rehab liaison marketing team, as well as admissions. Her team is devoted to educating the community about the benefits of inpatient rehabilitation and is passionate about helping patients reach their full potential.
Director of Pharmacy
Jeanne is responsible for managing, promoting, developing and expanding patient pharmacy services. Prior to joining Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Arlington, Jeanne served in roles including general manager/director for Wal-Mart's national mail specialty pharmacy business as well as regional pharmacy clinical services manager. She also worked within decentralized clinical pharmacy practice for St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Milwaukee, and she had several leadership roles with Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy and Medco Health Solutions. Jeanne was vice president for Foxmeyer Health's Carestream Division implementing new patient-centered workflow and technology solutions. She was the recipient of the Albert B. Prescott/Glaxo Wellcome National Leadership Award by American Pharmacist Association (APhA) in 1999. In 2001, the Healthcare Distribution Management Association (HDMA) awarded her the Innovation for Success Award for her patented work on designing work process for patient-centered prescription processing with individual patients. Jeanne graduated from the University of Houston College of Pharmacy in 1992 with Phi Lambda Sigma leadership honors.
Chief Nursing Officer
Emily started her career in emergency medicine as an EMT-I, prior to advancing and obtaining her bachelor’s degree in nursing at the University of Texas at Arlington. She later realized that she was drawn to leadership and obtained her masters of science in nursing and masters in healthcare administration. She has come to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Arlington with over 20 years of experience in the healthcare field, advancing from EMS to a staff level nurse, then holding various nursing leadership positions at acute care hospitals in Texas and Washington. Her last position was chief clinical officer at Kindred Fort Worth Southwest. As the chief nursing officer at Encompass Health Arlington, Emily is committed to leading a collaborative team to provide great quality patient care always.
