May 9, 2025 – Anne Thomas is a case manager with University of Iowa Health Network Rehabilitation Hospital. Before she was a case manager, though, she was a patient. Thomas suffered a life-threatening stroke in 2024 and eventually arrived at University of Iowa Health Network Rehabilitation Hospital to learn how to walk again. Shortly after discharging from the hospital, Thomas realized she needed to make a career change. As a registered nurse, she desired to still work in health care but needed a change of pace to accommodate her own health needs. KCRG ABC-9 News covered her story and how she is now inspiring others.
