June 12, 2026 — Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Braintree has appointed Timothy Lynch as the hospital’s next CEO. The 187-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital includes both the main campus in Braintree and the remote location in Framingham.
“Encompass Health Braintree has served thousands of patients over its long history,” Lynch said. “I look forward to leading the hospital’s expert team in providing state-of-the-art rehabilitation care for our community. We strive every day to exceed our patients’ rehabilitation expectations following a traumatic event with the goal of safely discharging to the community.”
Lynch comes to Encompass Health Braintree with more than 25 years of healthcare leadership experience within academic medical center, community hospital and physician group practice arenas. He previously held the role of vice president of clinical services for South Shore Health in Weymouth, Massachusetts, where he oversaw a broad portfolio of clinical services including inpatient medicine, critical care, surgery and cancer care. Prior to that, Lynch served in several leadership roles during his 21-year tenure at Brigham and Women’s Hospital — a founding member hospital of Mass General Brigham — most notably serving as the executive director for neurology and a key leader within the neurosciences service line. Lynch is accomplished in executing strategic growth, developing service line operations, leading large capital projects, and cultivating strong hospital and medical staff relationships to build value-added programs for its communities.
“Tim’s ability to lead is unmatched,” said Mat Gooch, president of Encompass Health’s Northeast region. “He is skilled in developing teams, engaging and building relationships with stakeholders, and optimizing growth. Our hospital will continue excelling under his leadership.”
Lynch earned a master’s degree in business administration with a healthcare concentration from Suffolk University’s Sawyer School of Business in Boston and a bachelor’s degree in healthcare management from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He also completed the Sperling Executive Leadership Program at Harvard Business School in conjunction with Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and he is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
